Climate Change: Why it is, Why it is matter and how we can help

 What is Climate?

Climate is refers to long-term patterns of weather in a specific region over decades and centuries. Unlike daily weather, which can vary widely, climate is generally stable and predictable over long period. Key factors influencing climate include temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, rainfall and some other specific conditions of atmosphere.
Climate has some types which are
  • Temperate climate: Characterized by moderate weather.
  • Polar climate: Cold-year round, typically found in Arctic and Antarctica.
  • Tropical climate: Warm and humid, common near to equator.
  • Continental climate: Marked by extreme temperatures, often in inland areas.

What is Climate Change?

Climate change refers to significant alteration in atmospheric conditions over extended periods. As climate change increasingly impact every part of our world. Primary cause of recent climate change is human activities, though natural processes also contribute.

Climate change due to human activities:

Common causes of human-induced climate change include
  • Burning fossil fuels for domestic and industrial use
  • Deforestation (clearance of large area of forest)
  • Utilization of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs)
  • Use of insecticides and pesticides in agriculture
  • Industrial toxic wastes
  • Uses of cars, buses, air craft and ship for Transportation
These are some common causes of climate change which are occur by humans.

Climate Change caused by natural processes:

  • Change in sun activity
  • Levels of carbon dioxides
  • Variation in earth's orbit
  • Emissions from volcanoes
Moreover decaying of organic matter produce ammonia which is natural cause of climate change.

Impact:

It has several negative impacts on our ecosystem including
  • Rising sea levels
  • Global warming
  • Rise in greenhouse effect
  • Ice melting in polar region
  • Extreme weather
  • Increased global temperatures
  • Threats to wild life
  • Reduction of ozone layer
These are some major impact of climate change on world .

What are Greenhouse effect and Global Warming?

Greenhouse effect:

When sunlight reach earth's surface part of it is absorbed and part is reflected in the form of heat. In atmosphere certain gases known as greenhouse gases (which prevent heat to escape out from them) including carbon dioxide(CO₂),  methane(CH₄), nitrous oxide(N₂O) and water vapors(H₂O) absorb this heat and heat up atmospheric temperature. This heat-trapping process is known
as greenhouse effect
Without this process the atmospheric temperature would be too cold for life. On the other hand increase of greenhouse gases lead to change in temperature by absorbing more heat that causes extreme weather and climate change.

Global Warming:

Some human activities causes increase the greenhouse effect, which is gradually raising temperatures, which is known as global warming.  Major cause of global warming are burning of fossil fuels which produces greenhouse gases  and Oxides of nitrogen (NOx) which trap heat comes from sun.

Negative impact:

  • Melting of ice capes and glaciers lead to rising sea levels, increase bringing risks
  • Change the path of air and ocean currents
  • Loss of biodiversity
  • Crop failures and food insecurity
Global warming is very dangerous for future. We should try to minimize Global warming to save our future.

Solution of Climate Change:

We can minimize climate change by some adapting efforts and rules.
  • Plants are natural source of absorption of carbon dioxide(CO₂). Reforestation (growing of new forest) is very important in this regard.
  • Use alternate sources of energy such as wind energy, hydrostatic energy and some other kind of sources in the replacement of fossil fuels.
  • Build power plants for capturing of CO₂ from atmosphere.
  • Promote speeches and websites about bad impact of climate change for awareness of people.
  • Discuss about climate change in ecological conferences and give solutions.
  • Government should strict for uses of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and toxic substances.
  • Promote 3R cycle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) to minimize waste release into the atmosphere.
  • Protect aquatic ecosystem because water can absorb large amount of CO₂ from air.
  • Industrial waste should be release in atmosphere after filtration.
These are common solutions for minimizing climate change on our earth to save our future.
